Jefferson Garden
The New Urban Farmers have begun it's community garden project on Jefferson Avenue in Pawtucket Rhode Island. Right now where the garden once was an empty lot where a house once stood. As of November 2009 - the garden began to grow - A recycled greenhouse, raised garden beds, and even a Vermicomposting center has been added as we grow. Please check back often to see the excitement of building a community garden.
We worked with a youth group from the Woodlawn Community Center to help them gain real life experience. We worked for four weeks long turning our community garden in to a place of real beauty and growing! Check out the pictures from their summer of hard work - thanks guys!
Chairs, benches, and shelves were built along with a mosaic project completed the last week.
