New Urban Farmers projects in Warren RI

The Orchard in Warren

In 2013 New Urban Farmers started on our 2 acre parcel of land in Warren. Our orchard sits on a town farm preserve of 11 acres: the beautiful 100 year old farm sits nestled between the local bike path and the local neighborhood. In 2013 we planted 100 fruit trees: apples, peaches, pears, and even cherries, in 2014 we plan to plant to more than double the orchard in size.

Old Schoolhouse Farm

Located in Warren RI, Old School House Farm on Manchester Ave, is a 17 acre farm that is over 100 years old. Like many of the New Urban Farmers farmland, it has rich history of being a farm, yet has been a hay field for decades. The New Urban Farmers are working hard to revive this old farm into a working farm again. And in the future we want to host beginning farmers on their first plots of farmland with the support from our organization.

Hope and Main Community Garden

In 2014 the New Urban Farmers is partnering with Hope and Main (http://makefoodyourbusiness.org/) to build a community garden right in the heart of Warren. Behind Hope and Main's beautiful renovation of an old school house into incubator kitchen space, will sit a pubic community garden. If you are interested in getting involved at anytime please email us for more information.
